    Overview:

    This course is designed to help participants understand the nature of what-if analysis and how to set up spreadsheets for what-if and sensitivity type of analysis and use them with Excel’s What-if tools.

    Important Instructions:

    This is a hands-on course and to be able to follow along, you will need to bring your laptop computers with a working copy of Microsoft Excel. Microsoft Excel for PC, Version 2013 OR Version 2016/Office 365 will be used in the demonstration of techniques of this course. Participants may use older versions with some loss of functionality. Starter Edition will NOT be adequate for this workshop.

     

     

    Course Content:

    In this course, you will gain knowledge about the following topics:

    • Understanding the spreadsheet requirements of all three What-if analysis tools – how to set up the spreadsheet for What-if analysis
    • Introducing the Scenario Manager and effectively using it to define scenarios for scenario analysis
    • Introducing the Data-Table feature as part of the What-if analysis tools
    • Exploring the use of the Data-Table feature with Lookup calculations for robust What-if analysis with multiple result cells
    • Understanding the Goal Seek and its capabilities and limitations

     

    Learning Objectives:

    Upon completing this course, you should be able to:

    • Understand the differences between the What-if tools in Excel
    • Learn how to set up spreadsheet models for What-if analysis
    • Understand how combine What-if tools with functions and formulas for analysis
