The Ethical Dilemma - Why it is Good for You

Overview:

As a CPA, it is an expectation of CPA Alberta and the public that you will act ethically in providing professional services in all situations. The expectation is that you can recognize ethically challenging situations and know how to respond, without committing ethical lapses.

Established ethical principles contained in CPA Alberta’s Rules of Professional Conduct, define you as a professional. Supported by recent research, in this course, you can learn why we may act the way we do and, by understanding this, how we can avoid ethical lapses before they occur.

CPA Alberta takes failure to meet ethical standards seriously. To date, the outcome of disciplinary proceedings has resulted in fines totaling over $900,000, payment of costs, mandatory publication of proceedings, written reprimands, suspension of membership, voluntary resignations, and even cancellation of registrations. In each case, members succumbed to ethical lapses.

In the newly updated version of this popular ethics course, we discuss ethics and provide a wide range of examples and case studies based on actual events. These will help you to recognize where ethics is an issue. You will have the opportunity to see yourself in a new light.
