SASB Accounting Standards

Overview:

This is a foundational course on Sustainability Accounting Standards. Course draws on Fundamentals of Sustainability Accounting Certification material and offers an overview and process of SASB’s approach.

Drawing on Fundamentals of Sustainability Accounting (FSA) certification created by SASB, this course is designed for professionals who benefit from understanding the link between financially material sustainability information and a company's ability to drive enterprise value.

Upon completing this course, you should be able to:

• Identify and assess material sustainability topics and metrics using methods provided by the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board.

• Apply your learnings by interpreting and standardizing non-financial data for companies in various industries through 4 case studies.

• Assess impact of non-financial ESG information on specific items in the balance sheet and income statement

• Gain a common language to effectively communicate financially material sustainability information to professionals across the capital markets
