Professional Ethics: Privacy and Transformative Technology

Overview:

Ethics affects many aspects of an organization and the individuals within that organization. This E-learning course addresses ethical requirements for CPAs with respect to day-to-day privacy risks, effects of transformative technologies along with improving professional judgement and critical thinking skills.

This E-learning course includes:

The first course “Professional Ethics – What CPAs need to know about evolving privacy risks” introduces key privacy considerations, including ethical responsibilities for practitioners to effectively manage the day-to-day privacy risks they face including:

·        A review of a CPA’s ethical responsibilities with respect to client data

·        Data breach mitigation techniques

·        Improving client and employee confidence

·        Increased understanding of the emerging trends and requirements in the privacy space

We will define private information and confidential information and illustrate through case studies, the differences and obligations associated with each. This engaging E-learning course will provide effective strategies to mitigate data breach risks and improve processes to maintain privacy compliance.

The second course “Professional Ethics and Transformative Technology” introduces the transformative technologies of Big Data, AI and Blockchain often referred to as the Big 3 and their effect on our day-to-day lives. Today, we are beginning to feel the impacts of the Big 3 transformative technologies within our society. They have the potential to help in our day-to-day lives. However, there are significant ethical implications to using these technologies for privacy, professional judgement, critical thinking and environment, social and corporate governance (ESG)The ethical implications of these technologies.

This course will both introduce these transformative technologies and help participants understand the ethical implications of using these technologies.
