Power Pivot - Doing more with Measures, KPIs, Time Intelligence and more
Overview:
This course is designed to help you use the more powerful features of the Data Model and Power Pivot by introducing you to Data Analysis Expressions and other analytical features that are available with Power Pivot.
Special Instructions:
This is a hands-on course and to be able to follow along, you will need to bring your laptop computers with a working copy of Microsoft Office 2013 or later WITH POWER PIVOT ADD IN installed if wishing to work hands-on. Microsoft Office Starter Edition will not be adequate. Office 365 will be used in the demonstration of techniques of this course.
IMPORTANT: You must already have some familiarity with Power Pivot or have taken the 'Getting Started with Power Pivot and the Data Model' course before attending this course.

- Revising – construction of the Data Model in Power Pivot
- Understanding Unequal Reporting with Named Sets
- Understanding how Measures / Calculated Fields work
- Creating Implicit and Explicit Measures
- A brief peek into DAX functions for creating measures
- Using KPIs in your report
- Exploring Time Intelligence and Date Tables
- A brief look at Cube Functions

- Understand the meaning of Measures in Power Pivot and how to use them
- Recognize how to create measures using simple formulas as well as DAX functions
- Use DAX functions with Calendar tables for Time and Date related intelligence in reports
- Enable KPIs in your Pivot Tables
