    Overview: 

    All CPAs have learned the principles that guide us in behaving ethically. But when faced with putting these principles into practice, we find ourselves challenged. And sometimes, yielding to the challenges and acting unethically. 

    This course outlines the principles for ethics for CPAs and describes the sources of external and internal challenges that can get in the way of applying these principles in real life. Through cases and examples, the course offers ideas for managing these challenges so that you can build behaviours, skills and confidence to challenge-proof yourself against acting unethically.  

     

    Learning Objectives 
    Upon completing this course, you should be able to:

    • Identify the five fundamental principles of ethics for professional accountants 
    • Recognize the external and internal challenges that can impact your acting ethically  
    • Practice behaviours and skills that enable you to manage the challenges that can impact your acting ethically 
    • More confidently and consistently act ethically in any situation

    This course will benefit CPAs and accounting professionals who want to strengthen their ability to recognize ethical challenges, apply professional principles in real-world situations, and build the confidence and practical skills needed to act ethically and consistently.
