Overview: 

Auditors require continual knowledge of changing standards and practice issues. This course will focus on recent modifications to the CPA Canada Assurance Handbook.

This will include:

  • Recently approved standards that have been incorporated in the Assurance Handbook
  • Proposed standards that will be imminently approved
  • Current Exposure Drafts and ongoing projects at the Canada Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (AASB), with consideration of international projects
  • Recent findings stemming from practice inspections, including recommendations on how to address these issues

  • Introduction and overview of recently revised standards that apply to audits
  • Exposure drafts and other projects in process for audits
  • Practice matters, including highlights from national practice inspection findings and practice advisory comments for auditors
